Riding Giants (DVD Review)

Another great documentary directed by Stacy Peralta. I have to confess, as a teenager, I lived the LA beach scene and so I’m a bit biased towards surfer flicks. To provide another confession, I never thought anyone could make a better surf movie/documentary than Endless Summer. This film with its directing, editing, and story is definitely the equal or possibly better than Endless Summer. Riding Giants captures the essence of the “surf bum” and that easy lifestyle that they represent. This doesn’t mean you have to enjoy surfing to want to see this film. Oh no, this film goes beyond a genre and just creates an interesting story with vivid characters that the viewers can relate to. Riding Giants is a definite must see for all film buffs.
