The Worst Shills Ever

So I was watching Jay Leno’s Garage and was interested in learning about Ricardo’s new product.  (FYI: Ricardo manufacturers high end transmission (and isn’t named after Ricky)).  So the show starts with Jay introducing this stupid salesman from Ricardo, who goes right into his sales pitch, then another jerk salesman bookends the first one with his own pitch.  And if that wasn't bad enough, these dorky salesmen try to look cool by wearing dungarees with their suits. What I call "the mullet of menswear." And just like the mullet, it looked good for about 5 minutes and should've died afterwards.

Tesla, the new IROC Z28

So I was driving on Highway 101 today and was cut off by one Tesla owner, and when I was going home, I was tailgated by another one. Apparently the "S" in Model S stands for $h!thead.  Frankly, I think all the early adopters and greenies have bought their Teslas already and now the futures sales are from the S-heads that were buying M3s.

The Worst Pricing Strategy Ever for a Car

Dear Cadillac/GM,

I just finish reading yet another article about your difficulties selling the new ELR.  May I suggest that you fire the idiot(s) that suggested a 76 grand MSRP.  Almost all the reviews I’ve read and watched on YouTube agree that you have the luxury and design aspects in the ELR, BUT most will also agree that there is no performance in that vehicle that would justify that price tag.  Your CTS-V coupe cost less than the ELR and it have the luxury, looks, AND performance to justify the cost.

So, eat some humble pie and admit you were wrong and sell it at the correct price of 50 or 55 grand and give all the people that already bought one a refund.  You are not helping the EV movement or your brand by just bribing your dealerships or reducing production of the ELR.  The ELR is a great product but has lousy pricing, which fortunately is an easier problem to fix than if the problem was the other way around.

The "this is what happens if you get drafted" films

I always wondered why TCM annually includes Kelly's Heroes and The Dirty Dozen into their playlist for the Memorial Day weekend. Hey TCM, you're aware that these films don't place veterans in the most positive light, right?  Don't get me wrong, I consider these films classic, but they don't actually make me want to join the service...but perhaps that's just me.
