Say "What" again. I dare you! I double dare you!

The thought of Morgan Freeman narrating my life seemed intriguing, until I saw this video.  Now the thought of Sam Jackson doing it seems more amusing :-)

Taste Nothing Like Chicken... or Humans

I recently read an article in Ars Technica about drinkable meals.  The story was interesting and I was trying to take it seriously but all I kept thinking was "that's the best name the inventor could come up with - Soylent?"  I'm intrigued by the whole idea, but naming something that conjures images of Charlton Heston yelling into the night, "it's people!" doesn't make me want to go "yummy yummy."

Post War American Design and The Minimalist

An interesting article in The Atlantic titled, "How Jews Designed the Modern American Home."  The title is a bit provocative but still worth reading.  I'll have to drive up to the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco to check out the exhibit. I'm big fan of mid-century modern design and the Bauhus folks.

The Worst Branding Ever

I was reading an article in ARS Technica about a drinkable meal called Soylent.  Really???  That's the best name you could come up with?  I'm intrigued by the idea of drinkable foods and meals, but naming something that conjures images of Charlton Heston yelling into the night, "it's people!" doesn't make me want to go "yummy yummy." So if this real, does that mean the apes are going to be taking over soon?
